FAQ about SoulCollage Workshops

Santa Rosa - Sonoma County

What is SoulCollage®?

SoulCollage® is an intuitive, creative, spiritual process and it's fun! Have you ever wanted to reawaken your creativity, try something new and fun or find ways to shift your mood? Is yes, then welcome to SoulCollage®! Intuitive abilities awaken in the presence of image and imagination. Using cut and paste collage techniques to create an individual deck of cards, opens the door to see aspects of your personality reflecting back to you. The more aware you are of yourself and what makes you unique, the stronger, healthier and happier you can be in your life!

Workshops are 3 to 4 hours each. You will spend time in a community of like minded people creating and then sharing your cards together. All your materials are provided for you and no, absolutely no prior art experience is necessary. It’s easy and anyone can do this!

Making your cards is satisfying and fun. Not reading your cards is like cooking a delicious meal and not eating it! You will learn to use your images to access your inner wisdom and to help facilitate growth and change. I offer small groups to those who have created a SoulCollage® Deck. You will bring your deck, no matter how small it is, and begin learning to consult your cards in a safe and nurturing setting.

How SoulCollage® Works:

Intuitive abilities awaken in the presence of image and imagination. Using the cut and paste collage process to create an individual deck of cards, opens the door to see aspects of our personalities reflect back to us. The more aware we are of ourselves and what makes us unique, the stronger, healthier and happier we can be in our lives!

How do I use SoulCollage®?

SoulCollage® can be used to help you understand the challenges that life brings. If you are grieving a loss perhaps you will create collages that commorate your loved one. These cards can also be a visual journal for your grief. Maybe you have questions about career or education directions? Questions about how to deepen your spiritual practice? Using the "I am one who" process with your cards can help you to find the answers within you. To do the "I am one who" exercise, simply sit and look at your card for a few moments. Then step into the images and say, "I am one who........" You will be surprised and inspired at the wisdom that resides within you, just waiting!!

Suggested Supplies:

ADHESIVES: I like to use Pioneer or Uhu glue sticks. Some of the Golden Mediums work fine too. You may use Rubber Cement but make sure you are in a well ventilated area.

CUTTING TOOLS: Scissors, small paper cutter, Exacto knives are all handy. A self-healing board to put under your images on the table is a good idea to keep from scratching up your work surface. They are readily available in stores that carry scrapbooking supplies.

PENS AND MARKERS: Great tools for touch ups here and there on images or edges of your cards. You can also soften areas of your image using colored pencils or Craypas.

Let your inner artist be your guide!

IMAGES: Let your intuition guide you to collect images from everywhere and keep them in a file. Remember that SoulCollage doesn't use words so cut out or tear just the images that call to you. You may want to keep them in a big file ready to go when you are inspired to create a card. Some SoulCollage artists separate the images into 3 categories: Animals, Backgrounds and Everything Else.

CARD BLANKS: Cut to 5 x 8 inches. I like the firmness of matt board, available in art stores. I cut the large 32 x 40 size boards into 5 x 8 cards. The art store will cut it for you but charge for each cut and that can add up! Or use your creativity to find old file folders, file dividers or any firm type cardboard for your backing. Those are easier to cut if you don't have a large size matt cutter at home. Another option is to check out www.SoulCollage.com and order precut matts from there.

Guiding Principals of SoulCollage®
SoulCollage® is a trademarked process developed by Seena Frost, MFT. Visit her website to learn more www.soulcollage.com. SoulCollage® cards are made from original artwork or from images found in materials which are purchased by the card maker. These collaged cards are made to be used for the cardmaker's inner exploration only. SoulCollage® cards are not copied except as a back up for the card creator. The SoulCollage® cards are not made to be sold or traded. We are greatful to the artists who created the images that we use for our inner journey. We always want to be respectful to the artists and photographers who make this deep awakening possible.
